The Upstream team is excited to welcome Mo Salomon to our team as a People Operations Lead!
Mo is a dynamic, compassionate, and an experienced people leader.
She’s joining the team to help strengthen our people processes, from recruitment to development to ensure Upstream employees have an amazing experience.
Before Upstream, Mo worked in Education and Startup spaces leading teams, serving diverse communities, hiring quality individuals and building out departments from the ground up. Her specialties lie in Social Emotional Learning, Behavior Management, Operations and Data Analytics. All skill sets that have fed into her passions for developing others, mentoring youth and leaving people better than she found them.
During the pandemic, Mo founded a tutoring company that later merged with Power to the Pencil (P2P) of which she became Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer for. P2P became the first tutoring organization within the US to implement a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum focused on 5 key life skills - Organization, Empathy, Self-Awareness, Communication and Time Management. P2P aims to serve students short and long term needs - in the classroom and in life.
Based out of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, Mo loves to travel, host community-based events, and get lost in nature from the depths of the sea through scuba diving to experiencing sunsets at mountain tops after a long hike.
