New Setting: Signatureless Voting
You can now vote without having to connect your wallet every time
We are thrilled to announce a new setting that will significantly enhance the voting experience for our users: Signatureless Voting.
If your DAO chooses to toggle this setting on, you can now vote without having to connect your wallet every time, providing a seamless and frictionless experience.
The Signatureless Voting setting will allow each DAO to control whether members have to sign their votes through the settings. A main benefit for DAOs using NFTs as tokens is that members won't have to connect their wallet each time they vote, which is especially useful if the NFT is being held in cold storage for additional security.
We understand the importance of reducing friction in the voting process, and we are excited to offer this solution to our community. We believe that making voting easier will increase the number of voters, thus improving the quality of decisions.
To activate this feature, simply navigate to your DAO's settings and select the option to "Remove Wallet Signature Requirement to Vote." This will automatically generate a proposal to be voted on by the DAO.
Once the proposal passes, you will be able to vote seamlessly without the need to sign each vote with your wallet.
Here’s What You Need to Know:
- If your DAO prefers that members sign on every vote, you will not need to take any action.
- Regardless of this setting, signatures will always be required for signators to execute the proposal.
- Upstream will still ensure eligibility to vote by verifying proof of ownership for tokens each time a member votes.
We believe that this new feature will significantly enhance the voting experience for our users and make the decision-making process for DAOs even more efficient. As always, we value your feedback and are here to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your continued support of Upstream, and we look forward to hearing your feedback on this new feature.
