We’ve added a new setting that allows DAOs to determine how anonymous voting is. This feature is designed to encourage voter participation by giving DAOs the freedom to customize their voting privacy preferences.

With this new feature, DAOs can now determine the level of voting anonymity from three different levels:

  1. Fully Transparent

2. Participation-Only

3. Anonymous

More Details on the Settings:

1. Fully Transparent: Allows members to see who voted and how they voted, providing complete transparency on the voting process. This is ideal for DAOs where complete transparency is required.

2. Participation-Only: Allows members to see who voted but not how they voted, allowing for privacy at the individual vote level while still maintaining transparency on participation.

3. Anonymous: Provides the highest level of privacy, where members will not be able to see who voted and how they voted. This is suitable for sensitive or confidential issues, where members need to feel comfortable voting without fear of judgment or retaliation.

Here’s What Else You Need to Know:

If you prefer to provide full transparency on how members are voting, no further action is required.

This setting is not retroactive, meaning that if you turn on this setting, this setting will not persist on votes made in the past.

At Upstream, we believe that active participation is crucial to building a strong and effective DAO community. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to hearing your feedback on this new feature.

Thanks!
